Acting

What is acting?
Section titled “What is acting?”Imagine the core powers of your potion as a tightly guarded castle. The remnants of the psyche that can cause a backlash resides within that castle. Our goal is to get rid of it and become the true master of the castle.
There are two ways we can do that. The first is to forcefully invade the castle. There is no guarantee that this will work, and you will most definitely injure yourself unless you can suppress it with absolute power. But of course, we are not equipped to do that.
The second way is to get the owner of the castle to extend an invitation. This invitation can allow us to slide through the scrutiny of the guards and infiltrate the castle. We can then easily finish off the enemies. But the problem lies in the fact that this invitation specifies the facial features and characteristics of the guest. Thus, we have to disguise ourselves and act as a guest.
Why do you need it?
Section titled “Why do you need it?”Loss of control is possible not only through Spirituality! If you drink a potion that doesn’t suit you, or if you cannot fully digest it, you risk losing control.
To drink a potion of the next Sequence (for example, from Sequence 8 to Sequence 7), you must fully digest the current potion.
Digestion comes from five different sources, described below. The most important of them is performing acting methods - specific actions tied to your abilities.
The five sources of digestion
Section titled “The five sources of digestion”1. Passive
Digestion accumulates slowly just from playing, with no input required.
2. Acting Methods
The main mechanism - see the section below for how it works.
3. Acting Bottles
A consumable that grants instant acting progress when used. Obtained from Battlepass rewards, server events, and Help Card exchanges in dungeons.
4. Bounties
A formal bounty system opened with the /bounty command, covering both PvE objectives (mob hunts, field encounters, exploration, resource gathering) and PvP objectives (consensual duels, ability-hit challenges).
- Bounties are personal, not a shared server pool
- A new bounty becomes available roughly every hour
- You can hold a maximum of 2 bounties at once
- You receive a chat notification for each new bounty, with an accept / decline choice
- The reward varies a lot by bounty - most land under 2-3% of your bar, with a handful of riskier or resource-sink objectives paying out as much as 5%

5. Deity Favor
If a Sequence 0 god of your pathway exists, they can grant Favor to believers of that pathway, filling a slice of your acting bar directly. Favor has its own lifetime-per-sequence cap, separate from every other source, so it can only ever top you up - never carry you to 100% on its own. See Sequence 0 for how gods and their authority work.
How does acting work?
Section titled “How does acting work?”Simply casting your spells does nothing for digestion anymore. You must perform a specific action tied to each ability to make progress.
Acting methods vary by ability and might include things like:
- Killing a mob using that specific spell
- Using the ability on another Beyonder player
- Discovering something new with the ability
When an acting opportunity becomes available, you will receive a notification in your action bar. After completing an act, the ability goes on cooldown before you can act with it again.
Sequence-specific acting methods
Section titled “Sequence-specific acting methods”Acting methods are different for each Sequence. As you advance, the methods for your previous Sequence stop working - only the methods tied to your current Sequence count.
This means you cannot stockpile digestion by grinding old methods before advancing. You must adapt your playstyle to each new Sequence’s requirements.
What happens once your bar is full?
Section titled “What happens once your bar is full?”From Sequence 4 downward, acting you earn after your bar is already at 100% doesn’t just vanish - it banks as overflow, a separate currency from acting itself. Overflow never counts toward advancement, but it’s what you spend to challenge another player for a held Usurpation seat. See Usurpation for how seats, challenges, and overflow spending work.
Daily Tides
Section titled “Daily Tides”The server runs a rotating set of daily modifiers called Daily Tides. On some days, acting gains are doubled or acting cooldowns are halved server-wide - keep an eye out for which tide is active, since timing your acting around a favorable one can meaningfully speed up your progress. See Daily Tides for the full rotation.
Tips for effective acting
Section titled “Tips for effective acting”Don’t rush - Consider the digestion process as part of the game, not as an intrusive limitation. Who knows what secrets are hidden in your abilities?
Pay attention to notifications - Your action bar will tell you when an acting opportunity is ready. Don’t ignore it.
Use the right abilities - Only the methods tied to your current Sequence count. Using old abilities won’t help after you advance.
Don’t forget about passive digestion - Even without acting, you still receive some digestion passively over time!
Combine your sources - Since every source is capped below 100%, mix acting methods with bounties and bottles. Relying on any single one will stall you.
