What is a Uniqueness?

Uniqueness is the unique characteristic of a Pathway, and is the most important ingredient for promoting to Sequence 0. Uniqueness is also referred to as the symbolism or authority of the corresponding Pathway.

Uniquenesses are typically abstract items or concepts. They can Come to Life and exist on their own, exist in the form of an Item or Sealed Artifact with limited or no consciousness, or be Accommodated inside a Beyonder.

How to get one?

The Uniqueness is awarded to the most active player of a Pathway, based on a weighted score built from your Sequence, playtime, activity, acting progress, and dedication (consistent daily sessions, not just total hours).

However, there is a catch: the selection only looks at a rolling 31-day window of activity, not your all-time record. This means that to hold or obtain the Uniqueness, you must remain active all the time. If your activity drops, the Uniqueness may choose another, more dedicated candidate.

The uniqueness is simply given to one of the players from the pathway if they have unlocked this feature. Other players cannot get it from this player by killing them, taking them hostage, or by any other means. We can even say that the Uniqueness chooses the player based on their consistent presence and impact on the world.

Opting out of the competition

Participation in the Uniqueness competition is not mandatory. If you do not wish to compete for your pathway’s Uniqueness, you can choose to opt out entirely.

Opting out removes you from consideration for receiving the Uniqueness, but also means you are free from any obligations or pressures tied to the competition.

Manual bonus from moderators

Players who actively contribute to the server’s community - posting their deeds, achievements, and notable actions in the dedicated forum channel on Discord - may be eligible for a manual bonus assigned by the moderation team.

This bonus can be worth up to 20 points towards Uniqueness accommodation, rewarding players who engage with the world and tell their story publicly.

How to accommodate it?

The key to Uniqueness accommodation is time. You cannot forcibly make it yours - you have to wait until it recognizes you as its owner. Using spells, playing the game, and spending Spirituality can all help with this process.

Upon dying, the accommodation will always decrease by 10%, no matter the cause of death - another player or environment - but it will never drop below 10%.

A new holder always starts from zero

When a Uniqueness changes hands - whether it’s reassigned automatically to a more active candidate, or won off someone through a paid Usurpation challenge - the new holder’s accommodation resets to 0%, along with their death count. You cannot inherit someone else’s progress; accommodation has to be earned again from scratch under your own ownership.

What does it give?

First, it is a required component for ascending to Sequence 0. You will need a potion AND a Uniqueness accommodated to at least 95% to advance further. See Sequence 0 for the rest of what godhood requires.

Second, upon accommodating it you gain valuable bonuses for its holder, scaling linearly up to your accommodation level:

• Spiritual Dominance

Increases Spirituality regeneration rate, up to +50% at 100% accommodation

• Divine Resilience

Increases maximum Spirituality, up to +20% at 100% accommodation

• Acting Acceleration

Increases acting point gains, up to +40% at 100% accommodation

• Authority Amplification

Increases spell power and damage, up to +30% at 100% accommodation

These bonuses unlock at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% accommodation. In the future there will also be pathway-specific traits, but for now they are only in development.
