Godhood Madness
Section titled โGodhood MadnessโAs a Beyonder ascends beyond Sequence 4, their divine nature begins to overpower their humanity. This manifests as a constant, baseline level of Madness that cannot be reduced through normal means โ not by time, not by ordinary spells.
This is Godhood Madness, and it scales with your Sequence:
| Sequence | Permanent Godhood Madness |
|---|---|
| 4 | 25% |
| 3 | 40% |
| 2 | 60% |
| 1 | 75% |
| 0 | 95% |
Unlike regular Madness, this form cannot be healed by any standard method. The only way to counterbalance it is through the Church system โ grounding your divine nature in the humanity of your followers.
Creating Your Church
Section titled โCreating Your ChurchโStarting from Sequence 4, a new option called Churches becomes available inside your Mystic Arts menu. From here, you can found your own Church โ a congregation of players who acknowledge your divine authority.
Gaining Followers (Anchors)
Section titled โGaining Followers (Anchors)โFollowers are recruited through your Honorific Name. When another player chants your Honorific Name, you will have the option to invite them into your Church. If they accept, they become your Anchor.
Each Anchor slightly reduces your Godhood Madness. The number of followers required to fully counteract the madness of each Sequence:
| Sequence | Godhood Madness | Anchors needed to fully mitigate |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 25% | ~12 |
| 3 | 40% | ~20 |
| 2 | 65% | ~28 |
| 1 | 75% | ~36 |
| 0 | 95% | ~50 |
Follower Bonuses
Section titled โFollower BonusesโBeing part of a Church is not purely a service to the divine โ followers gain real benefits:
- Pathway bonus โ If you are a follower in a Church whose leader shares your same pathway, you receive an additional bonus to your passive acting. Your connection to a more advanced being on the same path accelerates your own growth.
If your Church contains players who have an active Beyonder system (i.e. they are at Sequence 4 or below, not yet Sequence 5+), you may designate them as your Angel.
Angels have special responsibilities and privileges:
- They can invite new players into your Church on your behalf, expanding your congregation without requiring a direct Honorific Name chant
- In exchange, they receive a fraction of your Anchor count applied toward reducing their own Madness โ a reward for serving as your divine intermediaries
