Sealed Artifacts
What is a Sealed Artifact?
Section titled “What is a Sealed Artifact?”A Sealed Artifact is a special item that contains a fragment of Beyonder power — specifically, one spell from a Beyonder pathway. Unlike potions, Sealed Artifacts can be used by anyone, including players who are not Beyonders themselves.
However, this power comes at a price. Using a Sealed Artifact always carries drawbacks and side effects.
How to obtain one?
Section titled “How to obtain one?”There are two main ways to obtain a Sealed Artifact:
1. Expired Potions
Brewed potions that are not consumed within 2 days of their creation will automatically transform into a random Sealed Artifact. This is an uncontrolled process — the resulting artifact is unpredictable.
2. Crafting with Beyonder Chars
Certain pathways can craft Sealed Artifacts directly using Beyonder Chars. This is a controlled process that allows those pathways to produce artifacts intentionally, though it requires the appropriate Chars and knowledge.
What do they do?
Section titled “What do they do?”Each Sealed Artifact contains one specific ability from a Beyonder pathway. When used, it activates that power — granting you its effect even if you are not a Beyonder or do not belong to that pathway.
This makes Sealed Artifacts valuable tools for:
- Non-Beyonder players who want access to magical effects
- Beyonders who want to use abilities outside their own pathway
- Combat situations where a one-time powerful effect can turn the tide
What are the drawbacks?
Section titled “What are the drawbacks?”Using a Sealed Artifact is not free. Every use comes with negative side effects, which may include:
- Self-damage — the artifact harms you when activated
- Madness gain — using power you were not meant to wield increases your Madness
- Other negative effects — debuffs, temporary stat reductions, or other penalties depending on the specific artifact
Are they tradeable?
Section titled “Are they tradeable?”Sealed Artifacts are items and can be traded between players. This makes them a potentially valuable commodity — both for those who can craft them and those who need a specific magical effect without committing to a full pathway.
